ABOUT ME

Having taught mathematics in secondary school for the last 13 years, my experience guarantees that my methods and knowledge of the various syllabuses taught in mathematics are bang up to date.

My teaching style differentiates for all ages and levels of ability. I can identify the areas that we need to focus on and the types of learning suitable for each student to build their understanding and knowledge ensuring they achieve their full potential and the best possible results.

A graduate in mathematics from Glasgow University, I have also taught mathematics in middle school (2 years) and in primary schools (5 years).

I specialise in Key Stage 2,3 and 4 - from Year 5 through to GCSE.

I spent 10 years working in industry for Mars, primarily as an accountant, during which time I qualified as an ACCA, and also in marketing and personnel, so I have a broad understanding of the application of mathematics in the work environment.

​

My four children have now all graduated from university and I have spent many hours tutoring them in mathematics. Three of them used their mathematics at university in their choice of degree – Economics, Finance and Architecture. I have learnt a lot from their feedback as they are my most honest critics.

I have up to date DBS certification and am covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
